Quick and Easy Root Beer

This is a fast, easy way to make homemade root beer. Rather than fermenting it yourself, you can take a shortcut using carbonated water (club soda).

Quick And Easy Root Beer Ingredients

  • 2 cups water

  • 3 cups white sugar, or to taste

  • 2 tablespoons root beer extract

  • 2 liters carbonated water

How to Make Quick And Easy Root Beer

  1. Mix the water and sugar together in a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Stir in the root beer extract, and allow to cool for about 15 minutes.

  2. Pour the root beer mixture into a 1-gallon pitcher or bottle, and slowly pour in the carbonated water. Refrigerate until cold; serve over ice.

Quick And Easy Root Beer Reviews

  • This was really easy to make Tastes nice and refreshing on this hot day I cooled it quicker by dumping into a pitcher and adding two sandwich sized baggies full of ice and stirring till the ice melted... YUM YUM YUM

  • This was awesome We made the syrup and then our soda stream. We liked this as much if not more than buying root beer from the store. Loved that we could adjust the carbonation by making our own. We also used this for root beer floats. Yum

  • This did not work out for us...The title is accurate, it IS quick and easy, but everyone that tried it thought it was WAAY too sweet and sugary The root beer flavor was lacking and left an off after taste. The entire batch was poured down the drain, as no one could drink it. Sorry, for the the poor rating, but I did follow the recipe. Thanks for sharing, Carla B.

  • Oh so good you need to try it. and its sooooo eaasy

  • The first time we made it, it didnt work out. The second time we tried though it worked and tasted really good

  • Very easy. Kids loved it. We added a scoop of vanilla ice cream to make floats. Thanks for sharing a very simple treat, Carla B.
